Pioneering Women in Reconstructive Surgery
Pioneering Women in Reconstructive Surgery
Since 2017, SkinCeuticals has partnered with ReSurge International to advance first-generation women reconstructive surgeons in underserved parts of the world. We believe women surgeons have the power to transform the lives of families, communities, and economies worldwide.

The Need for
Surgical Care
Surgical Care
5 BILLION people worldwide lack access to safe, timely surgical care. For people in underserved countries who suffer from burn injuries or congenital conditions, a change in their appearance or ability to function has the power to transform their lives - enabling them to return to work, fully participate in their communities, attend school, and provide for their families.
Gender equality in medical training is essential to bridging the global gap in surgical care. SkinCeuticals and ReSurge International aim to correct this imbalance by supporting women reconstructive surgeons in underserved parts of the world through leadership, technical training, and mentorship.
SkinCeuticals +
ReSurge International
Today, there are ONLY 3 WOMEN SURGEONS for every 1 million people in low-income countries, and they often face economic and cultural barriers to gaining acceptance in their field.
SkinCeuticals has partnered with ReSurge International to advance first-generation women reconstructive surgeons in underserved parts of the world. Together, we created the Pioneering Women in Reconstructive Surgery (PWRS) initiative to support these inspiring women through surgical training, leadership development and mentorship networking. Help the next generation of women surgeons break barriers, advance their careers, and transform lives around the world through life-altering reconstructive surgery.
Since 2017, the program has:- Trained 26 female reconstructive surgeons, including the first ever in seven countries.
- Equipped surgeons to treat an estimated 17,100 patients annually, with a projected lifetime impact of 10 million patients.
- Expanded access to surgical care for 5 billion people globally who lack it.
